Staten Island Creative Community is a nonprofit volunteer coalition of visual artists, musicians, performers, writers and filmmakers residing in Staten Island, N.Y. SICC was started in 2008 by Joyce Malerba Goldstein and supported by the Council on the Arts and Humanities as well as many local artists and business leaders. In collaboration with the business community, we turn vacant properties into temporary galleries and performance spaces. We also produce a multimedia, two- weekend festival called Art by the Ferry. Our hope is to create an Arts District to attract and support the creative population and economic growth of Staten Island. The Gallery at 60 Bay is a large space separated into various-sized rooms that accommodate a range of work from small to very large pieces. The gallery offers a new and diverse show every month. On Second Saturdays local musicians play and on Second Sundays poets, novelists, comedians or playwrights read and perform their work.
