After majoring in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Kate Feirtag relocated to New York City and began working at the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators. Kate is the Exhibition Director for the Society, and organizes the current exhibits of contemporary illustration. She also oversees the traveling shows, maintains the website and runs the competitions and scholarship programs.
In 2012, the Society of Illustrators acquired the Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art. As part of the acquisition, the Society now proudly hosts MoCCA Fest, an arts festival for independent comic and cartoon artists held annually in New York City. Now in it’s second year, Kate works alongside a committee of experts in the field to organize this event.
Kate is also a leader for the Emerging Museum Professionals of NYC, an organization for young professionals that have been in the field for 10 years or less. And in her free time, Kate is currently training for the NYC marathon.
