Lauren Ross is a curator, writer and administrator with a career focus on the work of emerging and under-recognized contemporary artists. She currently serves as Nancy E. Meinig Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at Philbrook Museum of Art in Tulsa, OK. Prior to joining the Philbrook staff in 2011, she worked as a curator in New York City in various capacities, including as Curator and Director of Arts Programs at the High Line; Interim Curator of the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum; and Director/Chief Curator of White Columns. She has contributed writing to exhibition catalogs published by White Columns, The Studio Museum in Harlem, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, as well as to periodicals such as The Art Newspaper, Art in America and The Brooklyn Rail. Ross has taught at the School of Visual Arts, the Rhode Island School of Design, and the Whitney Museum.
