Sarah Newman is Curator of Contemporary Art at the Corcoran Gallery of Art. She has curated exhibitions including Spencer Finch: My Business, with the Cloud and Chris Martin: Painting Big, Ellen Harvey: The Alien’s Guide to the Ruins of Washington, D.C., and Mia Feuer: An Unkindness. She has published essays on painting from the early twentieth century to the present day, and is working on a major project about art and surveillance. She holds a B.A. from Williams College and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
