Susan New­mark has had solo exhi­bi­tions of col­lages and artists books at the Fig­ure­works Gallery in Williams­burgh, Brook­lyn, the Brook­lyn Pub­lic Library/Grand Army Plaza, the Gar­ri­son Art Cen­ter in Gar­ri­son, New York, and the gal­leries of Long Island Uni­ver­sity, John Jay Uni­ver­sity and St. John’s Uni­ver­sity, all in NYC. She had a two per­son show at St. Joseph’s Col­lege in Brook­lyn and her work has been included in many group exhi­bi­tions includ­ing the 2011 Patchogue Art Biennial, the Brook­lyn Museum of Art, the Par­rish Museum, the Islip Museum, the Cum­mings Foun­da­tion, Brook­lyn Col­lege, the Cen­ter for Book Arts ‚the Rotunda Gallery and Gallery North in Setauket, N.Y. Ms. New­mark has had res­i­den­cies at the Lower East Side Printshop‚ the Women’s Stu­dio Work­shop and the Byrd­cliff Arts Cen­ter and is in the col­lec­tions of the Brook­lyn Museum, the Lower East Side Printshop and the Med­ical Library of the Uni­ver­sity of South­ern Cal­i­for­nia. She was the guest cura­tor for Rare Edi­tions: The Book as Art at Lehman Col­lege Art Gallery/City Col­lege of New York and coor­di­nates Dia­logues in the Visual Arts, a series of con­ver­sa­tions with artists and art pro­fes­sion­als at Tribeca Per­form­ing Arts Cen­ter. She teaches col­lage and mixed media to adults and is a board mem­ber of the Cen­ter for Book Arts and the advi­sory com­mit­tee of the Kentler Inter­na­tional Draw­ing Space. Ms. New­mark was Deputy Direc­tor for the Visual Arts and Arts-in-Education at Henry Street Set­tle­ment Abrons Arts Cen­ter. She lives and works in Brook­lyn, New York.Web site:susannewmark.com
