Kristina Leath-Malin

Kristina Leath-Malin is a Brooklyn based (Detroit born) filmmaker and CG Artist as well as published writer who also specializes in animation and web design. She has recently completed her Master degree in Media Arts with an emphasis on writing and post-production, carrying through to complete my MFA with an additional emphasis on Hybrid Documentary work on Feminism and Horror. Kristina is a wife and mother with a sunny disposition. She enjoys curious and subjective ideas. As a filmmaker she strives to produce interpretive pieces without concrete meanings. Her genres of choice are horror and comedy. She loves 70's and 80's pop culture as much as a good chat about philosophy. Her first published work ''Objectification Repackaged: The Women of 21st Century French Horror'' is a comprehensive look at Feminism in French Horror. She also has 2 websites www.ProductionChick.com & www.PuppyLovingZombies.com, which offer two different design approaches to her web work. In addition, she has curated 2 art installations; "Aspects" (a multi-artist show) and "Windows on the World: Before, During and After 9/11" (a retrospective of the famous restaurant on the 106th and 107th floor of WTC Tower #1). She is looking forward to mounting a new "Aspects" with a "GREEN" theme in January 2012. Congrats! Let me know when our show at Long Island University gallery dates are confirmed. I'm working on the art installation now, and have just had my installation and budget approved for a new year's show. Yay!
