Annie Rudden

born in brooklyn, nyc, raised upstate new york. returned to nyc to study illustration at the fashion institute of technology, some film at nyu, more illustration at sva. a 4 year jaunt in japan, where i met great people, ate amazing food, drank good sake, and, essentially, cut my graphic design chops. while in tokyo, i exhibited my watercolours in 2 solo shows. then, back to brooklyn, and now, manhattan. this city is in my blood. i make my living doing illustration and graphic design, but thrive on creating art with my hands, drawing in particular these days. my most recent work are these pieces that i contrive from nature, my surroundings, and, my imagination. living so close to central park, i tend to garner my inspiration from the plant life there, nestled in the warm embrace of the new york city skyline. all this inspiration, right here, on my east harlem doorstep.
