David Antonio Cruz received his BFA from Pratt Institute, continued his studies at Skowhegan School of Painting and earned his MFA at Yale University School of Art. His work has been exhibited widely in institutions and galleries, including The Big Screen Plaza, Tilton Gallery, Praxis Chelsea, Vox Populi Gallery, The Jersey City Museum, El Museo del Barrio, The Bronx Museum and El Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico. David Antonio Cruz has been awarded numerous grants and awards, such as Artist in the Marketplace, National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts Award, Presidential Scholar in the Arts, Urban Artist Initiative Award, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture Fellowship Grant Award, among others. David Antonio Cruz lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
