A one-legged table, an impossibility. A fragile mirage that lives in a corner & paints the walls with reflected light. The 44″ table height is strategically placed to be seen on-edge from a seated position. Viewing the table top on-edge heightens the experience of the reflected, colored light. Size: 19" x 14" x 44" Type: Installation Furniture Material 1: Steel + painted top Material 2: Steel + gold leaf top

SPACECUTTER, founded in 2009, is a multidisciplinary, high-end design consultancy interested in the creation of thoughtful, idea-driven artifacts, large & small. The work ranges from 2-dimensional print, concept design & industrial design, to highly figured art objects & spaces. All of the ideation is done in-house & professional consultants are often relied upon for production & their respective areas of expertise. SPACECUTTER refers to the active, malleable way in which form is treated. The studio is interested in physical ideas that transcend time & place. Ideas are gathered, explored, cut, combined, rejected, re-examined, refined & ultimately crafted into sensual artifacts that occupy our physical world. Although the work range cannot be stylistically classified, it is clearly contemporary work rooted in exploring notions of site-specificity, phenomenology, materiality & structural tectonics.

Sure, it is sparse, but not thought provoking or visually stimulating, but yet it caught my attention. Perhaps it reminds me of the space all the space in my mind. Perhaps it made me angry because it only points to the infinite part of me. Me like.
