'untitled transparencies | late winter' is a collage of photographs taken on a drive back to New York as dusk was settling on the tree branches in Riverside Park. Their dark silhouettes become abstract striations against the darkening sky.

Gina Fuentes Walker
Gina Fuentes Walker uses translucent materials such as transparencies of color photographs, glass and Plexiglas to create small and large scale installations of the natural world. She uses photography to capture abstract details she finds inside the urban landscape of city parks and gardens. Group and solo exhibitions of her work include gallery and site-specific installations in New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Italy and Germany. Informed by an academic and professional background in anthropology and documentary media, she has been awarded fellowships and residencies from the Smithsonian Institution, Chashama and The Bronx Museum of the Arts. She is a resident artist at Chashama Studios. Fuentes Walker lives in New York City.
