Milan Jilka

My current work explores the idea of changing environments and the duality that exists within it. I have been very interested in the physical environment for quite some time, and more recently have explored ways to transform the ideas that I have into abstract landscape works. The environment around me has consistently and constantly altered and shifted itself to accommodate for the changing times. With these changes come varied viewpoints of what is actually occurring -good or bad. My work explores these dualities in a figurative way ¬colors, lines, and forms are applied to the surface automatically. The final product is a visual interpretation of the theme. Milan Jilka was born in Switzerland, raised in Canada, schooled in the United States, and currently lives in NYC.
