Lael Marshall lives and works in New York City. She graduated as 'Meisterschülerin' from the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich, Germany, (MFA), and received her BFA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She has shown her work nationally and internationally at galleries and institutions including Amerika Haus, Seidlvilla, Münchener Künstlerhaus, Bayerische Staatskanzlei, Kunstverein Gelsenkirchen, and ars agenda in Germany; Gene Binder in Marfa, Texas, Black and White Gallery in New York City, and most recently in a 2-person show at mitart gallery in Basel, Switzerland. Forthcoming she will take part in a 4-person show at the Riverside Art Museum in Riverside, California, and in "Textility", a comprehensive survey of artists using textiles in their work opening at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey in January, 2012. Her work can also be seen at The Drawing Center's Viewing Program, and the Pierogi Flatfiles. Her artist books have been accepted by Printed Matter, and The New Museum bookstore in New York. Her work is in public/corporate collections of BMW AG, Hypo Vereinsbank, HUK-Coburg, Nordstern Versicherung GmBH, and Chambers Hotel, NYC. In January, 2011 she was named Artist of the Month by BRIC Contemporary Arts, Brooklyn.
