Tranquility meets Tension / Pallet creates Juxtaposition / Illusion of simplicity / Hard-earned serenity / Joy in finding the moment / Animism / Matter imbued with spirit / Organic forms / Extracted representation and meaning / BEING/S / Kylin O’Brien holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Vassar College and a B.A. (Honours) in Illustration from Leeds Metropolitan University in the UK where she was awarded a part-time lectureship while pursuing her degree. Kylin has taught art and design in both the UK and New York, published the webzine, The Chutney Breeder and the artsite chutney.org. She received a commendation award in 2004 from the MATRIX curator at the Berkeley Art Museum and in 2009 was awarded a Brooklyn Arts Council Regrant for the public art initiative, The Monster Project (www.themonsterproject.net). Currently living and working in Brooklyn, New York.
