Joyce Yamada - Hunters' Corridor
Artwork Description
Joyce Yamada
Joyce Yamada lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. Her imagination revolves around evolutionary biology and entertaining science factoids. “Hunter’s Corridor” is a play upon 2 very different corridors. One is a wildlife corridor, designed by humans as a semi-intact strip of habitat allowing animals to migrate between patches of survivable living space; the other is the trophy hall of the WWI era Archduke Ferdinand, which to contemporary eyes seems a wanton display of dead animal heads. Hubris... deep time... the unity of all things... the loveliness of jaguar fur....
