My paintings are rooted in the tradition of Indo-Persian miniature painting. I am currently working on a series of self portraits and portraits of family members.

Hiba Schahbaz

I was born in Karachi, Pakistan in 1981. My interested in drawing and painting developed at a young age. From 2000 to 2003, I attended the National College of Arts in Lahore as an undergraduate student. During this time I earned my BFA in Miniature Painting. I have lived and worked as an artist in Pakistan for most of my life. Recently I relocated to New York and am currently pursuing my MFA at Pratt Institute. My paintings are rooted in the tradition of Indo-Persian miniature painting. I am currently working on a series of self portraits and portraits of family members.
