Artwork Description


"Untitled" is a recent work in which I left the confines of the canvas(es) and continue the mark-making, imagery, and text onto the wall. This approach allows me to encompass a larger area and gives the canvases a worked space in which to exist in.

My painting sensibilities and concerns have recently expanded to include a variety of formats. Site-specific installations and large-scale wall works make up current body of work. The work has left the confines of the object and has stretched into the space the object inhabits. The work now exists both on and off the canvas. The marks, materials and imagery now live in and on a painted space not just a clean white wall. Layered mark-making, imagery, and color combines to create a diverse visual vocabulary evoking stories and memories that are rooted in the personal but departs and co-exists in a common space of collective experience.
