sumi

Sumi is a Japanese painting artist from Okayama.Where she started drawing at age 5. Her first childhood work reflected nature in depth and structure through the lens of comics. In 1987 she attended Bunka fashion school in Tokyo to study textile design,during which time she also began a career as an illustrator for magazines. She performed live painting at clubs and event spaces until her move to NYC in 1999. She has showed her work and performed live painting in NYC and Brooklyn.
