Ashley May

Ashley May (b. 1984) is a multimedia artist working in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. She earned a degree in Studio Art from Wesleyan University and has shown with Recession Art, Super Prime, and the Perfect Wave Gallery in New York. Statement: Using found paintings, postcards and snapshots as source imagery, I work intuitively with various materials (paint, charcoal, collage, etc.) to reveal themes about time passing, narratives being lost and reconstructed, and ancient worlds overlapping with the contemporary world.
