More information is on her website, www.joycewashor.com Paintings are the perfect container for contemplation. They answer my unconscious desire for tranquility and for my need to connect with the divine. Scaling the size to 3x4 inches is a natural response to my meditation practice. It is not just seeing with the physical eyes. It is actually becoming the 'seeing' which takes place inside myself. I find watercolor to be the most intuitive medium giving the subconscious expression. I am captivated by the intimacy of scale and drawn to the silence of still life objects; their stillness makes room for deep reflection.
