Artwork Description


I examine the primal connection between human and the environment that need to be renewed. I take unnoticed elements in their natural stage and transfer them into painted images. My art is a fusion of drawing and paintings. “First Anniversary Gift is a painting 24”x36” Venetian plaster, Hematite ink and Graphite on canvas

Shira Toren

Shira Toren is an emerging American-Israeli artist. Born in Tel-Aviv, She moved to New York City to study fine art and design. She received her BFA from the Pratt Institute and An Associate Degree in Art Therapy from The New School. Toren is the recipient of The Henry Matisse Estate Scholarship, and twice the Blue Dot Award from The Arts Student League. She has studied at The Art Student League under the guidance of renowned American painters William Scharf, Knox Martin, Bruce Dorfman, Ronnie Landfield and Frank O’Cain.
