Artwork Description


'Dog Walks Man' as submitted here is a photograph of a canvas (the submission is the canvas not the photograph) which I painted as my contribution for this year's Art Around the Park (Tompkins Square) annual Howl Festival 2011. The piece is a graphic satire- with the question in mind- "Who cleans up after us?" The actual piece is approximately 8 feet high by 5 feet wide. Black acrylic paint on a white acrylic background. 'Man Walks Dog' was subsequently exhibited at Life Cafe 983, Bushwick, Brooklyn during September 2011, and received wide coverage in the NYC Metropolitan media and some international media as one of several images selected from the show.

Born in the North of England in 1950 John nows lives in Brooklyn where he produces surreal illustrative art based on menu items at two New York cafe's; Life Cafe in the East Village and Life Cafe 983 in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Prior to coming to New York John designed museums and immersive exhibits around the world.
