Alic Trossman - Downtown
Artwork Description
Alic Trossman
The City has been a central focus in my work in the last ten years.Fascinated with the different spatial functions of streets and other public places in the city, I followed routines and paths of urban life, seeking to create a dialogue with urban environment while aspiring to capture the individual in his own scenery and unveil the way he relates to it. I was born and raised in L'viv, Ukraine in 1972, then immigrated with my family to Israel and since 2010 live and work in New York City. I studied Art and Photography at Camera Obscura School of Arts, and continued in the Kalisher's Artist Training Program in Tel Aviv. My works have been featured in solo shows in venues such as the Museum of Ramat Gan 2006 and the Biannale in Vienna 2008, and in group exhibitions in various galleries in Tel-Aviv and New York City. I am the Recipient of the America-Israel Foundation Award 2002.
