Artwork Description

The image is a socio-economic and political statement that calls for review into the timely theme of class warfare. The time-honored concerns of the struggling class (here, working, indigenous young girl) takes on the wealthy class (here, older larger, fatter, and more wealthy white folks) to right the wrongs that have plagued our society (here, since the Conquista). This seemingly comfortable scene of a beach retreat could easily be interpreted as the second manifestation of the struggling classes' rage. The theme is timely. Do the underprivileged gain prosperity? Do the impoverished, or struggling classes of our society take on the powers that be - do they stand a chance to gain voice in the debate. Or do the fat-rats in power lose ground after this new resurgence of working class wealth?
