I encountered these strangers, "The Insiders," while walking the streets of New York City. I was investigating individuality and they were kind enough to tell me about that and so much more—namely the freedom and vulnerability it inspires, whatever the level of manifestation. This population's diversity is the city's most obvious and picturesque feature, and it is also its most redeeming one. In New York City, there is no one who doesn't belong; even the most extreme individual is expected to be here. "The Insiders" reveals the individuals who live in this unique condition.
