Living sustainably in an urban environment requires ingenuity. These days striving to minimize one's impact on the planet weighs heavily on the collective consciousness. This piece challenges viewers to look at what they consider waste in a different way.

KD Derr

Two constants in my life; I am equally drawn contradictions and to precision work with my hands. This has given me the propensity to work in male dominated professions as a chef, a contractor and a scientist before choosing to focus on sculpture. Sassily wearing skirts for my uniform, I brand myself a sculptress rather than the gender neutral sculptor. My lust for a good challenge is reflected by the way each of my three distinct bodies of work: experimental textiles, interactive art and fine art challenge the viewers.
